The Geminids, a meteor shower will awash the evening sky on December 14.
The peak time to witness the annual celestial event is estimated to be 10:30 pm. The shower is expected to occur at a speed of 60-100 meteors/ hour. Akshay Kumar from the Association of Bangalore Amateur Astronomers says, “Wear binoculars or simply lie down on the terrace and look up towards the eastern sky.” The meteor shower is caused by an extinct comet 3200 Phaethon.
