The state government has declared holiday for Milad un-Nabi in Dakshina Kannada on November 20, as it is being observed in the district on Tuesday.
A release from District In-charge Minister U T Khader stated that Milad un-Nabi holiday was scheduled on November 21. However, it is being observed on November 20. Accordingly, schools, colleges and government offices will remain closed on Tuesday and function as usual on November 21.
The community members from Dakshina Kannada had appealed to the chief minister to change the holiday to November 20 instead of November 21. The chief minister, in turn, had directed the chief secretary to initiate measure.
The official notification in this regard will be issued by the state government on Monday, the release stated.
