They were ‘rescued’ by personnel of the Fire Services, after forcibly opening the doors using modern equipment.
The minister was at the Jayadeva unit of the K R Hospital to inaugurate the dialysis unit on the third floor. After the inauguration, the minister along with the others got into the lift.
The lift reached the ground floor, but the double doors got jammed. The hospital authorities tried their best to open the doors, but in vain. The Mysore Medical College and Research Institute authorities supplied oxygen through the holes of the doors.
The police also lent a helping hand in the ‘rescue operations’. Soon, the fire personnel reached the spot and freed the VIPs.
