New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V Somanna met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Tuesday and requested him to approve long pending proposal of Tumakuru-Chitradurga-Davangere railway line.
Though the proposal of railway line was cleared by the Railway Board, it is pending in Ministry of Home Affairs for the approval.
"Somanna said he has requested the Union Minister to grant early approval so that work could be completed at the earliest. Shah responded positively," he said.
However, he clarified that no political issue was discussed in the meeting.
