Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa, who visited Shravanabelagola on Thursday urged the people and concerned officials to cooperate for the success of the Mahamastakabhisheka.

Speaking to reporters, he said that the government has been supporting the festival in all ways. The works are being taken up at a cost of Rs 275 crore. Twelve satellite towns are being constructed, which can accommodate 26,000 people, he said.

"State-of-the-art technology has been used to construct a scaffolding at Vindhyagiri. The upgradation works on the roads connecting Shravanabelagola has reached the final stage. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is keen on the successful conduct of the festival. The CM held a meeting in Shravanabelagola and in Bengaluru recently and has given his suggestions. District in-charge Minister A Manju is updating about the progress of works. Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda has extended his cooperation," he said.
