Bengaluru: Medical Education Minister Dr Sharan Prakash Patil has appealed to medical seat aspirants and their parents not to fall prey to the fraudulent middlemen who offer them a seat.

In a statement, the minister stated that all seat allotments would be done systematically through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

Warning about the growing number of people who falsely promise medical seats, Patil said, "People who claim they can get admission in certain colleges by leveraging their contacts or influence disappear later after cheating by collecting money."

In Karnataka, 1,47,782 candidates registered for the NEET 2025 and 1,42,369 appeared. Of these, 83,582 students qualified to get admission into medical courses. "Do not act in haste or anxiety to secure a seat in a top college. Middlemen are waiting to exploit your desperation. Stay alert and avoid their scams,” the minister said.

Patil said, “All seat allotments will be done systematically and transparently solely through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Students and parents must strictly adhere to these official procedures."

Meanwhile, the minister warned the middlemen and said, "If anyone is found misleading students or parents with false promises of securing seats and cheating them, such people will be identified and dealt with strictly as per the law. The government will not tolerate playing with the future of students and parents. Stern action will be taken against such intermediaries."
