Dr Viegas, who is the son of Vijaya Bank retired manager Joyce, had gained experience in Emergency Medicine by working at Tunbridge Wells Hospital and Maidstone Hospital at Kent in England. Dr Viegas was also honoured with Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) status from the Royal College of Surgeons, London.
