Referring to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's 75 years remark, Chief Whip in Legislative Council Saleem Ahmed stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should step down and allow a youngster to take over the top post.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Ahmed emphasised that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that politicians, who turned 75 years of age, should retire from politics. "Bhagwat’s statement is significant, as it directly targets Modi. This is a crucial matter for consideration," he said.
He said although this is an internal issue for the BJP, it is currently relevant. B S Yediyurappa, at the age of 75, was replaced from the position of chief minister, he added.
Reacting on the Bengaluru stampede, Ahmed criticised BJP leaders, stating that BJP leaders are always looking for faults in others. Justice John Michael D'Cunha is a retired High Court judge, and he has no political affiliation.
“He has gathered all relevant information regarding the incident and submitted a comprehensive report to the government. Instead of searching for faults, the leaders should focus on offering suggestions and advice," he noted.
