The accused have been identified as Naveen alias Thimmaraju of Pantharapalya, and Nagamallesh alias Mallesh, Nayandahalli in Bangalore. The two had lifted two of the vehicles from the parking lot at city railway station here.

The police team that nabbed them consisted of Inspector Kiran Kumar, Sub-inspectors Shabeer Hussain and Mahadevaiah among others.

‘Knock’ knocked him out

A moulvi was robbed of Rs 38,000 in cash by a gang of four in Naidu Nagar in the city on Thursday wee hours. Mohammed Khaleemullah, 55, a moulvi at Munnaver Masjid woke up to a knock on the door around 4 am.  He opened the door to a man who wanted him to tie talisman to his daughter who was ill. The unsuspecting moulvi, let the stranger in only to find himself in a fix.

A total of four persons brutally assaulted Khaleemullah, before making cuts on his chest with a sharp weapon. They escaped with the cash kept in the almirah inside. He took help of his neighbours to avail treatment at a hospital.
