Mysuru: In a strange turn of events, a woman who was “murdered” by her husband appeared in a Mysuru court on Thursday, even as her husband completed two years in jail on murder charges.

In 2020, Mallige, wife of Suresh went missing in Kushalnagar and a missing complaint was filed in Kushalnagar police station. Some days later, a skeleton of a woman was found in Bettadarapura (Periyapatna taluk) police station limits.

After investigation, the police submitted a charge sheet into the court alleging that the skeleton was of Mallige
and that Suresh had murdered her.

Accordingly, Suresh was arrested and has been lodged in jail.

Video found

Advocate Pandu Poojari had appeared for Suresh in the court.

On April 1, 2025, he found a video of Mallige with a man and brought the matter to the notice of the court. The court had summoned Mallige.

Police searched and produced her before the court on Thursday.

The court has directed Bettadapura police to submit a complete report of the case before April 17.

Now, the identity of the woman, who was presumed to be Mallige, needs to be established.
