Music, dance helped this CBSE topper focus on studies

CBSE class X topper Girija with father Manjunath Hegde, mother Tunga and sister Pavani.

Girija Hegde, a student of JSS Manjunatheshwara Central School here, has stood third in the state in the CBSE class X results.

She is the daughter of Manjunath Hegde, head of the horticulture section of SDM Medical College, and Tunga.

Dreaming to be a scientist in future, she has scored 100 in Maths, Science and Social Science. Her scores in Sanskrit and English are 99 and 98, respectively.

Music, Bharatanatyam and painting classes helped her take the exam pressure off her and concentrate, Girija said.

The girl is already taking training for IIT and NEET entrance exams, post-class XII.
