Mysuru: A youth was brutally hacked to death in Mysuru on in the wee hours of Monday. A dispute over the autorickshaw fare is suspected to be the cause for the murder.

The victim has been identified as M D Shahbaz (26), a metal fabricator by profession and a resident of Ghousia Nagar in Mysuru city. He was murdered at nearby Beedi Colony, under Udayagiri Police Station limits, in Mysuru city.

It is suspected that one Zuber and others might have committed the murder. However, the exact motive is being investigated. According to initial police investigations, the murder appears to have been triggered by a dispute regarding autorickshaw fare collection and other related issues. A special team has been formed to track down and arrest the suspects.

Officials confirmed that the situation at the crime scene is currently peaceful and under control.
