The road leading to Shiradi Ghat on national highway-75 which was blocked following a landslide between Gundya and Shiradi, was cleared within a few hours on Sunday late night.

Officials and labourers of L & T which is entrusted with fourlaning work on the road from B C Road and Gundya, rushed to the spot and cleared the road.

All the vehicles bound towards Shiradi ghat were diverted via Ichalampady-Mardala-Gundya.

Meanwhile, with the increase in water level in the Gundya rivulet, Hosamata bridge on Kadaba-Subramanya state highway continued to remain blocked on Monday.

Office goers, labourers were inconvenienced as they had to use alternative roads to reach their destinations.

Mysuru

After three days, the Mysuru-Ooty national highway opened up for traffic as river Kapila water level declined.

The highway remained inundated from Friday as river Kapila was overflowing.

Kabini Dam authorities have reduced the outflow to 40,000 cusecs. The inflow to the dam was 45,750 cusecs.

Udupi

Meanwhile, heavy rain and with gusty winds lashed different parts of Udupi District on Monday.

Kaup, Udupi, Saibrakatte, Brahmavar, Halladi, Hebri and surrounding areas received heavy rain since Monday morning.

Electric poles were uprooted and that disrupted electricity supply in different parts of the district since Sunday night.
