Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri on Wednesday said that Mysuru district would be free from malnutrition by 2023.

The DC was addressing the gathering of ‘Poshan Pakhwada’ valedictory ceremony at Zilla Panchayat, here. She said, "The district should be made as malnutrition free by creating awareness and by providing healthy nutritious food for every pregnant woman."

In the district, 135 children are suffering severe malnutrition and 12% are malnourished. According to the report, anaemia is on the rise in the district and girl children often suffer from anaemia, she informed and added, practising traditional food habits would solve the malnutrition issue.
