Mysuru zoo welcomes new birds, animals from Assam, Meghalaya

Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens received several birds and animals from Assam and Meghalaya zoos, under the Animal Exchange programme.

The zoo received two male and female Great White Pelicans, a pair of Brahminy Shell Duck, two pairs of Barking Deer, a pair of Four Horned Antelope, Brow Antlered Deer and a Leopard Cat from Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Gardens, Assam.

Similarly, a male Himalayan Black Bear has been brought from Shilong Zoo in Meghalaya. According to the zoo authorities, the animals have been brought to the zoo for the enrichment of animal collection and for the purpose of breeding and conservation.
