‘Gurupadappa’s son Suryakant Nagamarapalli who had lost the byelection to the State assembly from Bidar constituency has also filed election petition challenging the election of Congress candidate Rahim Khan.

As June 30 is the last date for filing election petitions, Nagamarapalli’s advocate Pramila Nesargi on Saturday filed the two petitions separately in the circuit bench here.

The petitions allege that electoral malpractices have taken place and that both the winning candidates were party to them. The Election Commission and the District Election Officer are also respondents to the petition. It has been alleged that after the polling was completed the votes polled in the electronic voting machines have been changed. Pramila Nesargi alleged that the election authorities have acted like Congress agents, thus contributing to the defeat of BJP nominees.

Easily tampered

Stating that the microprocessor chips installed in EVMs have been procured on the basis of outsourcing and that any one can easily change the contents of the EVMs, Nesargi claimed she had corroborative evidence which she would present before the court.

She also stated that she had enough evidence to establish the fact that Congress candidates had spent more money than the prescribed limit in the elections.
