BJP is making Tipu Jayanti an issue for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, alleged former minister M C Nanaiah.
Addressing reporters, he urged the government to initiate action against the politicians who disturb the social fabric of society for political gain.
“The BJP and Sangh Parivar have been using Tipu Jayanti for their selfish motive. It is not right on the part of a political party to use innocent people to stage protests,” he added.
He further said that the elected representatives should pass a resolution in the legislative assembly and council discontinuing Tipu Jayanti celebrations by the government.
