Bengaluru: The National Lok Adalat held on December 14 resolved a total of 38,80,881 cases, including 2,45,189 pending cases and 36,35,692 pre-litigation cases, according to a statement by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority.
Across Karnataka, Rs 2,248 crore was awarded as compensation and relief during the event.
Among the resolved cases, 1,587 matrimonial disputes, including those filed under CrPC Section 125 and the Domestic Violence Act, were settled, with 307 couples reconciling due to conciliation efforts.
Other notable outcomes included the resolution of 3,311 partition and 5,168 motor vehicle cases, with Rs 309 crore awarded as compensation; 11,262 cheque bounce cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act; and 611 consumer court cases, resulting in Rs 3.53 crore in compensation.
The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) emphasised the effectiveness of the Lok Adalat in promoting speedy and amicable resolution of disputes across diverse legal domains.
