The protesters assembled at the new bus terminal at 2 pm and blocked the road by forming a human chain.
They raised slogans against the Centre and burnt an effigy of Chidambaram. They urged the Centre to take strict action against in curtailing the naxal menace.
Due to the protest, traffic was affected for more than half hour. N Lakshmaiah from the BJP district unit, city unit president D L Nagaraj, members Omshakti Chalapathi, Manjunath, Vijay Kumar, Chalapathi, Appi, Shivakumar, Madhusudan, Parthasarathy and Balaji participated in the protest.
