Bengaluru: Former minister M P Renukacharya on Friday reiterated that he never violated BJP’s any discipline code.
Renukacharya said whenever he spoke it was only to defend the party as well as the party leaders’ dignity, which was questioned by a section of the party leaders.
He is one among five leaders against whom the BJP’s central disciplinary committee has issued show-cause notice demanding explanation for violating party discipline.
Speaking to reporters, Renukacharya said: “I have submitted my reply well within the 72-hour deadline. I would like to clarify here that I have raised my voice only when “some” in our party started criticising our veteran leader B S Yediyurappa. For the past four years, one leader has accused of Rs 2,000 crore bribe for the CM post, which was nothing but a malafide campaign against our party leaders. Therefore, I had to defend the party and its leaders, which inevitably put me at odds with others.”
He asserted that though his actions and statements were intended to prevent those making statements against the party and its leaders, he had not made a single statement against anyone in the party or raised the questions about party Central leaders’ decision-making process.
