Ibrahim said that he would be soon holding discussions with like-minded people to decide on the party’s symbol. He added that the new party will follow the ideology of Basavanna and Dr B R Ambedkar.

The 77-year-old was expelled from JD(S) in 2023 on charges of anti-party activities.

He was heading the state unit of JD(S) before falling out of favour with party patriarch H D Deve Gowda.

Ibrahim held Civil Aviation portfolio when Deve Gowda was the Prime Minister of the country.
