Manager of USN Water Hurg Company Robert said providing tap connections and toilets to residents of Bisalavadi village was a good development, but NGOs should take steps to bring awareness among the people about various issues affecting the society.
He was speaking at a function organised to inaugurate 250 tap connections and 58 toilets provided to the residents of Bisalavadi by ODP at Bisalavadi in the taluk on Friday.
Stating that NGOs should function like a bridge between the governments and donors with the beneficiaries, he said provision of loan facility to self-help groups was a step towards making the people financially independent.
Manager of ODP Robin Pern, zonal officer Gangadharaswamy, grama panchayat member Nagaraju, Nagayam, Geetha Mitra, Ashok Kumar, John B Rodrigues, Shivanna, Harish, Haralappa and Joseph were present on the occasion.
