Mangaluru: National Investigation Agency (NIA) team arrived in Mangaluru as a part of investigation into the murder of Suhas Shetty, at Kinnipadavu in Bajpe police station limits on May 1.

Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy said that the process to hand over the case to NIA has begun. Investigation officer will hand over the case to the NIA team.

After the murder of Suhas Shetty, BJP and Hindu organisations demanded an NIA probe into the murder. Accordingly, the Ministry of Home Affairs had issued an order in this regard on June 7.

The city police had arrested 12 persons in connection with the murder of Suhas Shetty.

Bajpe police had registered a case under sections 189(4), 191(2), 191(3), 126(2), 109, 118(1), 103(1), 61(1), 62, 351(2), 351(3), 190 of BNS, 2023 and sections 3(1), 25 OF Arms Act, 1959 pertaining to attack and murder of Suhas Shetty.
