The murder of a retired DGP is a very tragic incident. The victim’s wife, Pallavi, has been framed and made an accused by the Chief Minister and Home Minister to appease minorities, she told mediapersons in Mangaluru.

“As per the investigation team, Pallavi had mentioned in a WhatsApp group that Om Prakash had links with PFI. While working in the police department, one tends to become acquainted with all kinds of criminals," she said.

"However, it is important to find out what kind of contacts exist after retirement. It must be investigated whether, during Siddaramaiah’s administration, members of the banned PFI, who were unemployed, are now being appointed to the police department. It should also be examined if there was pressure to recruit banned PFI cadres to the police department when Om Prakash served as DGP and IGP," she added.

"There are no eyewitness accounts of the murder, nor is there any CCTV footage available. Solely based on Mrs. Pallavi’s statements, she has been made an accused. The NIA must investigate whether PFI members were involved in Om Prakash’s murder, and whether, after the PFI ban, unemployed PFI members were being pressured into police department appointments through retired officials," she said.

“I have written a letter to the current DG & IGP of Karnataka, Alok Mohan, collecting enough evidence regarding PFI members' involvement in Om Prakash’s murder,” she added.
