Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) personnel arrested a Nigerian national supplying Cocaine to Mangaluru. Commissioner of Police, Anupam Agrawal said that  the police seized 30 grams of cocaine from his possession.

 The arrested is Michael Okafar Odikpo (44), presently residing at  Siolim in Goa and is a native of Lagos, Nigeria.

Explaining the case, the commissioner said in March 2024, the Mangaluru CCB police arrested two individuals, Sadaqat U  alias Shaan Nawaz and Mohammad Ashfaq alias Ashfa, residents of Amblamogaru, Ullal taluk. They were found selling cocaine near Eliyar Padavu ground in Amblamogaru on a two-wheeler. During the arrest, the police had  seized 34 grams of cocaine and other properties worth Rs 2,72,000. A case was registered at the South Crime Police Station. Following the investigation, the CCB gathered information about the drug peddler in Goa who had supplied cocaine to the accused. Acting on this information, the CCB team traveled to Calangute in North Goa and apprehended a Nigerian national.

Anupam Agrawal said the accused, a Nigerian national, entered India on a business visa in 2012 and stayed in Mumbai for about one and half years before moving to Goa. He has been residing in Goa and engaging in the sale of narcotics. He already has three drug-related cases registered against him in Goa.

The operation was led by ACP Manoj Kumar Naik of the CCB unit, along with police inspectors Shyam Sundar HM, PSI Sharanappa Bhandari, and other CCB staff members
