While the road users are yet to come to terms with the closure of the Shiradi Ghat road, since three days, owners of roadside eateries and other traders are affected as they were totally dependent on the vehicles  plying on the road for business.

Traffic jam at Charmadi

As the road at Charmadi Ghat — an alternative road in the wake the closure of Shiradi Ghat — is narrow, so, there was a traffic jam with more than 30,000 vehicles plying every day.
It is said there was traffic jam for more than five hours on the stretch, causing inconvenience to passengers.

Bisile Ghat
Most of the passengers travelling towards Kukke Subramanya, Dharmasthala and Mangaluru travel on the Bisile Ghat route. The road is ridden with potholes from Sakleshpur to Subramanya. There is no proper road on the 35 km stretch from Vanaguru to Subramanya. As the road is narrow, it has become a nightmare for the drivers.

Hotels
A majority of the hotels from Anemahal to B C Road on Shiradi Ghat have temporarily closed. While the workers have lost jobs, the owners who had invested lakhs of rupees are in a fix.
