Mysuru: Nirdigantha organisation founded by actor Prakash Raj will be hosting a three-day conference on 'Theatre as a tool in education' from December 26.

On December 26, Prof H S Umesh, Senior theatre and education expert will inaugurate the Conference. Jehan Manekshaw, Co-founder, Drama School, Mumbai will speak on 'Theatre beyond the stage: Reframing its educational power'.

Dr Chandra Dasan, Artistic director, Lokadharmi theatre, Kochi will speak on 'Classrooms as Theatre'. Samta Shikhar of Head Start Educational Academy, Bengaluru will speak on 'Projects at Head Start Educational Academy and Theatre for Toddlers'.

Geetanjali Kulkarni, Head, Goahtarang will speak on 'Dramatisation of Children's literature to enhance reading and writing skills'. Anurupa Roy Founder, The Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust will also speak.

On December 27, Sundar Sarukkai, Philosopher, Author and Educator will speak on 'Philosophy for children'. Dr Shekhar Seshadri, former director, NIMHANS and advisor, SAMVAD, Bengaluru will speak on 'Theatre as a therapy for children'. Dipendra Rawat, Dramain EducationTrainer, T I E Co, NSD, Delhi will speak on 'Curriculum Drama'. Gautham Sarang, Educator and Founder, Walking Ferns, Calicut will speak on 'Integrating creativity into education'. Kavya Srinivasan, Writer, Theatre-maker and storyteller will speak on 'Theatre in the classroom to understand and manage feelings better. Anita Nair, acclaimed author, Bengaluru will speak on 'Writing for Children'.

On December 28, Nisha Abdulla Artistic Director, Qabila, Bengaluru will speak on 'Creating an anti-oppressive classroom'. Sanyukta Saha Director, Aagaaz Theatre, Delhi will speak. Mala Giridhar, Clinical Psychologist, Sirsi will speak on ''Theatre's role as a developmental and socio-emotional tool'. Deepthi N Facilitator, Educator and Co-founder, AuraTELS, Hyderabad will speak on 'Transforming learning experiences through theatre tools'. Vijai Kumar Singh, Founder member, NSD TIE Wing, Tripura will speak on 'Understanding art education and art integration'. Shaili Sathyu, Artistic director, Gill Repertory Theatre, Mumbai will speak on 'Making theatre for young audiences'.
