Mysuru: Arrests have been stopped in the Udayagiri Police Station attack case on Home Minister G Parameshwara's orders, former MP Prathap Simha claimed, adding that the attack was carried out by people of a particular community
Speaking to the media in Mysuru on Wednesday, Simha said Parameshwara visited Mysuru and held a closed-door meeting with the Police officials on February 14, and the number of arrests, which was 16 on that day, has not increased since then.
“It looks like the Home Minister has instructed the Police not to arrest the rioters. It looks like he came to Mysuru to tell this. The only agenda of this Congress-led Karnataka government is appeasement of Muslims. Is the government afraid of arresting more rioters in the case in which 1,000 unnamed persons have been named as accused? Is the government afraid of arresting the mufti (religious judiciary person) Mustak Maqbooli, whose provocative speech video is available? Does not Ambedkar’s Constitution apply to him? Does Udayagiri have a separate Constitution?” he asked.
“People of that religion hail the name of their god while bombing and killing innocent people. Does it not defame their god and religion? They express their outrage only against things like memes. Besides the Home Minister, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also only needs the votes of Muslims. He is not concerned about law and order in Karnataka,” Simha said.
“The chief minister and home minister do not want to arrest the rioters. As they support rioters and appease Muslims, they have no moral right to be in the government. What can the people expect from such leaders?” he asked.
