According to the corporation, passengers can transport luggage/goods on KSRTC buses, including items such as washing machines, refrigerators, truck tires, aluminum pipes, iron pipes, utensils, cats, dogs and rabbits, depending on available space. Passengers also have a free luggage allowance of up to 30 kg.

The KSRTC denied social media posts and media reports about new luggage rules.

While the luggage transport system has been in place since November 5, 1999, periodic revisions have been made, including fare updates, free allowance for up to 30 kg of luggage, specifications on permitted items, and so on. The current luggage rules/circulars have been in effect since October 28, 2022, it added.
