Mangaluru: Karnataka PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi said that as of now no Dalit convention has been planned in the state. “I will confirm once it is finalised. The convention will take place under the leadership of the Home Minister. It will be held whenever the Home Minister announces it,” he told mediapersons in Mangaluru.
To a query on Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara’s visit to Delhi, Jarkiholi said the party high command is like a temple. Anyone can visit and there are no restrictions. “When I went there, I just spoke on strengthening the party to help the party to come back to power again. Everyone visits high command prays for the same. If there are minor differences, then it can be addressed through dialogue.”
On removing D K Shivakumar from the post of KPCC president, he said, “We have no rigid stance on it. It's only a request. We have only asked for a change. The final decision rests with the high command,” said the minister.
“In Congress, we are all independent in expressing our views to the high command. Ultimately, the high command makes the final decision," he added.
On KPCC working president G C Chandrashekar complaining to the high command against minister Rajanna, Jarkiholi said, “As KPCC working president is in the state, he could have invited Rajanna for discussions. The issue could have been resolved locally. There was no need to take it to Delhi. Rajanna coming under the working president’s jurisdiction. Writing a letter to Delhi was unnecessary.”
As D K Shivakumar himself has said that Siddaramaiah will continue as CM, and there is no need for further discussion, he added.
When asked about the delay in crediting the amount to beneficiaries' account under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, the minister said, “Money will be transferred to the accounts. Previously, payments were also released once every two months. The scheme has not been stopped. It is only a temporary delay, and we are trying to release the full amount soon.”
