Legislative Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa on Thursday said the pros and cons of banning the entry of private TV channels in the legislature was being studied but no final decision had been taken.
Kagodu said there was a proposal before the government to start its own channel to directly relay the proceedings of the two houses of legislature on the lines of Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV.
If the proposed channel is in place, then private TV channels will be kept out of the legislature. “We are studying the model, but there has been no final decision,” he said.
