Belagavi: Vijaya Ortho and Trauma Centre Chief Dr Ravi Patil treating Women and Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar injured in a road accident during dawn on Tuesday said that there was no need to shift her to another hospital as they have all the required specialists for her treatment.

Dr Patil informed reporters late on Tuesday that they have neurologist, physician and ortho physician and have been providing the required treatment to the minister.

"Hebbalkar has fractures on back, but does not require surgery. She has been responding to the treatment. Her brother and MLC Channaraj Hattiholi too has been diagnosed and is undergoing treatment," he said.

"Driver and gunman of the minister have not suffered any grievous injuries and we provided them treatment for the minor injuries," he said.

"We shall update on the recovery of the minister on Wednesday morning," he added.
