Bengaluru: BJP leader and Rajajinagar MLA S Suresh Kumar expressed his disappointment on Sunday that his starred question on environmental pollution had gone unanswered by the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, even after 50 days of asking the question.

“On August 21, I had asked a starred question on whether the government was aware of environmental pollution worsening in Bengaluru, and if yes, what was Bengaluru’s position in the country, what were the reasons for it and what steps had been taken by the government to prevent it. Instead of answering my question, Minister Eshwar Khandre had sought 15 days to answer it,” Kumar said in a post on his Facebook account.

Noting that Khandre had consented to his suggestion that the minister should conduct a meeting with his officials and discuss the issue before providing an answer, Kumar said he had reminded the minister about the same on September 6.

He claimed to have written another letter on September 26.

“Today is October 12. That means, even 50 days after my question, there hasn’t been a written answer or a meeting with officials. The government’s functioning style, which doesn’t respond to such an important issue, shows lack of sensitivity,” Kumar said.
