The High Court on Thursday ordered issuance of notices to the government, Home Department, Police Commissioner, Bangalore and CBI with regard to the murder of K J Thomas, the rector of the St Peter’s Seminary.

Justice Ashok B Hinchigeri ordered notices and directed CBI to take notice in a petition filed by D Philomena, the mother of one of the accused, in the murder. The petitioners, D Philomena, mother of Fr Elias Daniel and M Mariamma, mother of Fr William Patrick, have approached the court seeking CBI inquiry into the matter as their sons were in custody.
