According to officials, Khuba had got permission to carry out stone mining in two acres of land between July 19, 2014, and July 18, 2019. But, it was alleged that mining was conducted beyond the leased area. The complaint in this regard was filed by Sanjeev Kumar Javakar.

A joint survey by the Assistant Director of Land Records and the Department of Mines and Geology confirmed that about 7.19 lakh metric tonnes of stone had been illegally extracted and transported. Despite the tahsildar issuing multiple notices for payment of fine & royalty, the BJP leader reportedly failed to respond.
