Bengaluru: A notice has been issued to con woman Aishwarya Gowda, who has been accused of cheating multiple people and falsely claiming to be the sister of former Congress MP D K Suresh.
Aishwarya has been directed to appear before an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), who has been appointed as the investigating officer, sources said.
During the investigation into the cheating cases, the police seized five mobile phones from Aishwarya and sent them for forensic analysis after obtaining court permission. Two phones belonging to her husband were also confiscated.
Investigators discovered four Call Detail Records (CDRs) linked to people whom Aishwarya allegedly planned to threaten and extort.
Sources revealed that accessing call records requires authorisation from senior officials, as they are considered confidential and are strictly available to law enforcement agencies for investigative purposes.
The revelation has raised concerns about potential insider involvement in the unauthorised verification of CDRs.
In the fresh case, Aishwarya has been booked under IPC sections 120B (punishment for criminal conspiracy) and 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant), and relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. Further probe is on, the police said.
