Over three lakh cases are pending to be heard in the Karnataka High Court. The litigant citizen is suffering.

With the current functioning strength it will take over 15 years for the cases to be disposed said senior counsels B V Acharya while participating in the eight-day long hunger strike being organised demanding the immediate appointment of judges.

Hundreds of Advocates participated in the strike that was observed in front of the Golden Jubilee gate of the Karnataka High Court.

Members of the Advocates Association Bangalore, the Karnataka State Bar Council and senior counsels are participating in the strike.

"Over three lakh cases are pending in the Bangalore courts alone. Many senior counsels are sitting with us in protest," said Ranganath, president of Advocates Association, Bengaluru.
