Yadgir: As many as 40,040 cases are pending before the Karnataka Information Commission (KIC), the highest being 9,211 from Bengaluru Urban, according to KIC Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar.
Addressing a press meet on Friday, he said 3,570 cases from Belagavi, 2,220 from Raichur, 2,151 from Bagalkot and 2,103 cases from Kolar are to be disposed of. Kodagu has the lowest number (45) of pending cases.
Badruddin K, another KIC Commissioner, said that the deputy commissioners have been asked to dispose of RTI applications in the department-wise progress review meetings. The Commission has also suggested bringing RTI applications under the KDP meetings, he added.
