Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) personnel have arrested two more individuals accused of duping hundreds of people by promising overseas job visas and collecting large sums of money from them. With this, the number of arrested in the case has rose to three.

Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy C H said that the arrested are Dilshad Abdul Sattar Khan (45) from Navi Mumbai and Sahukari Kishore Kumar alias Anil Patil (34) from Dombivli, Thane in Maharashtra.

The commissioner said that the arrested had allegedly opened an office under the name Hireglow Elegant Overseas International (OPC) Private Limited at Bendoorwell in Mangaluru. Through newspaper advertisements and misleading claims, they convinced job seekers of guaranteed employment abroad and collected lakhs of rupees.

Police investigations revealed that around 289 individuals were defrauded to the tune of Rs 4.5 crore, without being issued any visas. A case was registered at Mangaluru East Police Station under Sections 316(2), 318(4) r/w 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Earlier, a Mumbai-based Masiwulla Khan was arrested and is currently in judicial custody. Continuing the investigation, police have now apprehended the prime accused.

The commissioner said that the arrested were produced before a magistrate and remanded for further police investigation.
