Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP leaders on Sunday vehemently attacked Pakistan for its sustained support for terror, besides the nation’s failure to honour the terms of international ceasefire agreements.

The party took out a rally "We All Stand For National Security" in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje said that Pakistan, unable to withstand the Indian onslaught, had sought US intervention to defuse tensions along the border. Shobha added, “As many as nine terrorist training camps in Pakistan were destroyed. When the US stepped in to defuse the situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aware of the importance of diplomacy, agreed to a ceasefire, only for Pakistan to violate the truce soon after.”

Although incapable of feeding its population, Pakistan had splurged on building terrorist infrastructure, alleged Shobha. “Pakistan must be taught a lesson. World leaders hold PM Modi in high regard. Now, it is time for them to reconsider their stance on Pakistan, and accordingly revise the terms of engagement with that untrustworthy nation,” said the Union Minister.

Leader of Opposition in the Council Chalavdi Narayanaswamy, who flagged off the yatra, said that India, although not keen on war, had been compelled to launch the military offensive following the horrific attack at Pahalgam. Lauding the precision with which the armed forces executed Operation Sindoor, Chalavadi said, “Instead of co-operating with India in dismantling terror networks, Pakistan is aiding terrorists.”

Condemning Pakistan for violating the ceasefire agreement, Chalavadi said, “Pakistan is not so much a nation today as much as a safe haven for terrorists.”

Both Chalavadi and Shobha exhorted the people to cast aside all differences, and rally behind the country’s military in this hour of crisis.
