Some miscreants gained entry into Aregal Parshwanath Jain Temple at Jinanathpura village near here, and stole ancient panchaloha idols on Monday night.
The thieves entered the temple, which dates back to the Ganga period, by breaking open the window and stole 22 idols of varying sizes, from three to 24 inches, from the temple. They stole idols including Jain Tirthankara, Yakshakshera, Dharanendra Padmavathi, Kushmandini, Jwalamalini, Nava Devetha, Kudre Bhramadeva, Nandishewara.
The dog squad, forensic experts and police officials visited the spot.
