Panel for withdrawing revolving fund

 A Cabinet sub-committee on Friday decided to recommend the Cabinet to withdraw Rs 322 crore from the revolving fund for procurement of paddy and ragi at minimum support price (MSP).

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the sub-committee headed by Law Minister T B Jayachandra. Sources said clearance of Finance department has been obtained to utilise the amount for procurement. The government has procured  5.66 lakh quintal of paddy and 7.44 lakh quintal of ragi from marketing federations. Once cleared, part of amount from revolving fund will be utilised to reimburse federations, sources said.
