Mysuru: Members of the Mysuru Cinema Society (MCS) released the poster of 'Paridrushya', the third International Festival of Short Films and Documentaries, scheduled to be held on February 1 and 2, in Mysuru, Karnataka on Monday.
Addressing media persons in Mysuru after the release of the poster, secretary of MCS Padmavati Bhat said, "The festival is being hosted in collaboration with Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana at Kaveri and Nala Auditoriums on Mukthagangotri, the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) campus."
Coordinator of MCS G R Chetan said renowned actor and director Prakash Belawadi, writer Manek Premchand, and KSOU Vice-Chancellor Sharanappa Halase will inaugurate the two-day 'Paridrushya'. Writer, director, and producer Prithvi Konanur, Mysore-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, and MLA T S Srivathsa will be present at the event.
Bhat said, “Paridrushya has received 3,123 short and documentary films from 109 countries. Awards will be given in 26 categories to films selected by a jury of eminent experts of the field. From across India, there are 985 films, while there have been entries from Iran (42), France (138), Italy (5), Germany (108), Russia (88), and the USA (82). A total of 73 Kannada short and documentary films have been received.”
Chetan said that Union Minister L Murugan will be attending the awards presentation ceremony. MCS members Jogi Manju, Seema Burude, and Venugopal, were also present.
