Mangaluru: Despite the ongoing atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, the silence of Indian political parties to protect their vote banks is deeply concerning, said Sachidananda Bharathi Teertha Swamiji of Edneer Mutt in Kasaragod.

He was addressing the mediapersons on Monday during the concluding ceremony of the nine-day Soundarya Lahari Mahayaga, organised under the aegis of the Karnataka chapter of Akhila Bharatiya Santa Samiti, at Om Shree Mutt in Mary Hill.

“The political parties in India are acting opportunistically regarding Bangladesh. If such situations persist and atrocities against Hindus occur in India in the future, to what extent can these parties be expected to support?” Swamiji questioned. "If everyone does not truly become a Hindu, there will be trouble. The central government should intervene regarding Waqf property issue."

Vidyananda Saraswati Swamiji of Om Shree Mutt said that on December 12, the regional executive committee meeting of the Akhila Bharatiya Santa Samiti will be held in Bengaluru. A decision will be made to bring all Swamijis together to gather information related to Waqf properties.

Rajesh Nath Guruji, General Secretary of the Santa Samiti, said, “To awaken Hindus, programmes are being conducted at the rural level. Edneer mutt Swamiji is undertaking the initiative in Kerala, and under his leadership, visits to villages will also be organised in Karnataka.”
