“The charges levelled by Patil are not serious. He can speak to the minister concerned,” Parameshwara said at a press meet here on Sunday.

The Home minister said that his colleague H K Patil has written a letter to chief minister stating that Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been looted in illegal mining.

“He has suggested that money should be recovered from the looters and steps will be taken in this regard,” Parameshwara said.

He said that the police have been given a free hand and there was no pressure on anyone.
