Pavagada villagers terrified by rumors of kidnapping for organs

A Whatsapp message saying that children are being kidnapped, their kidneys and other organs are being harvested, has created fear among the villagers of Ponnasamudra village, Pavagada taluk.

The message says that kidnappers from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh strike at night and take away children. This message has horrified villagers of Doddahalli gram panchayat.

As a coincidence, the disappearance of a young girl from Doddahalli village on Sunday night, has added fuel to the terrifying, but unfounded stories doing the rounds.

However, the police have confirmed that no such incident has occurred and all such messages are rumours spread by mischief mongers.
