Bengaluru: The Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA) Karnataka, elected new office-bearers and executive committee members on Sunday.

Dr Shobha Prakash was elected the first woman president for the 2025-2027 term of the association at the annual general body meeting during the summit. 

The summit witnessed panel discussions on infection control practices, challenges in management of small hospitals and nursing homes, health insurance and medico legal issues among others. 

Dr Shobha said she would fight for the betterment of women in healthcare sector. “My priority is for my ladies of Karnataka. I am there to support them. All they have to do is approach me and I am there for them. Majority of the healthcare providers are women. You go anywhere, nursing care is mostly done by women,” she said.
