The Minister was happy to cite the example of Rekha M Hudgi and Shwetha, in the course of his speech. A native of Gulbarga, Rekha was working with the broadband services section of a private cellular service provider after completing her BA in 2007. She participated in the job fair held exclusively for the specially abled candidates in Bangalore and secured a job with ICON, Centre for Training and Career Advancement Ltd, as co-ordinator. Shwetha, a hearing impaired and mute, is a BE graduate in computer science discipline. She too made it through a job fair bagging a job in Eduquity. Both represented their employers at the fair.

832 get offer letters

In all 832 got offer letters, while 1,553 were selected to final rounds at two-day job mela which concluded on Saturday.

Employment Officer S J Hemachandra told Deccan Herald, as many as 1,805 candidates were selected for training. The second day of the mela saw 1,055 freshers and 1,000 previously assessed candidates. A total of 76 employers had participated in the mela and 3,791 appeared of which 2,736 candidates registered on Saturday, he said.
