Bengaluru: The Pilikula Nisargadhama in Mangaluru, an eco-tourism destination, will get a facelift to make it a world-class attraction, Science & Technology Minister NS Boseraju said on Friday.
Boseraju said the Pilikula Nisargadhama was inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in 2018.
"The ample space available at Pilikula Wildlife Sanctuary makes it ideal for its evolution into an international-level attraction. The Pilikula Development Authority was established under CM Siddaramaiah in 2018. A detailed blueprint for its comprehensive development will be discussed at the Authority's next meeting," Boseraju said at a review meeting with his officials.
Boseraju said a formal proposal would be submitted for inclusion in the 2025-26 budget. He asked officials to expedite the appointment of a consultant to facilitate the project’s implementation.
Quantum summit next year
Based on the success of the Bengaluru Nano summit, the Department of Science & Technology is planning to organise a two-day Quantum summit in July 2025.
The summit will focus on showcasing Karnataka’s advancements in the quantum field and fostering global collaborations, according to Boseraju.
"Discussions are underway with international partners renowned for their achievements in quantum technology to facilitate knowledge exchange," Boseraju said, adding that officials have been asked to start preparations.
