Pingara Rajyotsava Award, instituted by Pingara newspaper, will be conferred on social worker Roshan D’Souza from Belman. The award will be conferred at Kudmal Ranga Rao Town Hall in Mangaluru on November 13.

Roy Castellino, Pingara Prashasthi selection committee convener, said that the committee had received over 30 applications recommending the names of achievers for the award. “The 38-year-old Roshan has been helping the poor and needy through donors. He has already helped over 180 poor people by providing financial assistance of Rs 2.5 crore. He has also started Humanity, an NGO, to help the needy,” said Castellino.

The ceremony will be presided by Mangaluru Diocese Bishop Rev Fr Peter Paul Saldanha. Kemaru Sandeepani Sadhanashrama seer Esha Vittala Swami will bless the occasion.
